Olamide Reveals Plans To Release A YBNL Family Mixtape
It’s commonplace to want put other people on after gaining significant success, and that could explain why so many prominent Nigerian musicians have their own record labels.
Davido has DMW, with stars who have taken over the music scene this year; Wizkid has Starboy, the crew behind the biggest song of the year, “Soco”; while Olamide has the constantly evolvingYBNL, which he’s just revealed will be dropping a compilation project soon.
Olamide successfully kicked off the careers of Lil Kesh and Adekunle Gold, and sent them on their way when they’d found their footing. Now, Olamide has signed on a bunch of exciting new artists: Lyta, Limerick, Yomi Blaze and Davolee.
Just last week, they released “Juju Gunz & Roses”, which should give us a good indication of what’s to come on the joint mixtape. If it eventually happens, the mixtape could be a game-changer for indigenous hip-hop in the Nigerian music industry, especially for the genre’s up-and-comers.
There’s no release date as of yet, however, we’re keeping an eye out for it.
